Robert V. Gunderson, Jr. is a founding partner and Chairman Emeritus of Gunderson Dettmer, a leading international law firm specializing in emerging growth companies, venture capital, and growth equity. Internationally recognized as one of the most accomplished lawyers in these fields, he has represented parties in many of the most significant transactions over the past four decades, including financings, initial public offerings (IPOs), mergers and acquisitions, and fund formations. Gunderson has served as a director on the boards of numerous public companies, including his current role as Director at Andersen Group Inc. (ANDG), where he recently engaged in insider trading activity.
Gunderson holds a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School, where he served as Executive Editor of The University of Chicago Law Review, an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and an M.A. from Stanford University. He is admitted to the bars in California (inactive) and Washington (inactive). A co-editor of *Venture Capital and Public Offering Negotiation*, the leading treatise in its field, he has written and spoken extensively on legal topics related to his practice areas. Gunderson is a Fellow of the American College of Governance Counsel and the American Bar Foundation, reflecting his stature in corporate governance and legal excellence.
